Description

  • Restore the dignity to your Ibérico ham!
  • 3D printed with food-grade plastic
  • Attaches with screw mount and magnets

Pata Negra with no pata?! It’s just not right! With our new prosthetic ham hoof, you can restore dignity to your next bone-in Ibérico ham.

The USDA forces all ham makers in Spain to cut off the hoof before exporting to the U.S. The black hoof (or ‘pata negra’) is one of the signs that a ham is from an Ibérico pig, so we have created a replacement that you can attach to your ham.

We worked with a lab to scan an actual hoof from an Ibérico ham. We then took the scan to a local company that 3D prints each hoof using a durable food-safe plastic. We added a screw-in post with a magnet which attaches to the ham shank, and a magnet that holds the hoof to the ham. After you have enjoyed your whole ham, just remove the mounting screw and save for later use.

We will ship you one black plastic hoof with a magnet attached. This will attach to the magnetic post that you screw into the shank of the ham.

Instructions for use:

Pull the magnet and the screw from the hoof (they will arrive attached). Screw the post into the exposed shank of your ham, where the hoof used to be. Then just attach your prosthetic hoof and the magnets will hold it in place.

Note: You may want to use a saw to square off the surface of the shank bone so that the hoof will attach in a natural-looking way.

Have fun! You can paint your hoof to add extra pizzazz to your jamón. Please send us a photo if you do!
