These artisan cookies are crafted by Aromas de Medina, a family-owned company in Medina Sidonia, Spain. Their recipes have been handed down for generations and they pride themselves on superior ingredients and traditional Spanish products.
Alfajor Navideño
A mini version of the beloved Alfajor de Medina cake, this honey and almond spice cookie tastes like Christmas morning. Hazelnuts and almonds are ground and mixed with spices, then finished with powdered sugar to create subtle hints reminiscent of a cinnamon bun or hot apple cider. Ideal for nibbling with a cup of hot tea or coffee while the youngsters tear through stockings.
Roscos de Vino
Resembling mini-donuts, these ring-shaped cookies have been a holiday favorite for centuries in Spain. Baked from a generations-old family recipe, roscos de vino cookies combine just the right amount of sweetness with a touch of muscatel wine, creating festive fare for party platters or treats for indulging in with cocoa or a glass of dry wine.
Mantecado
These Christmas shortbreads combine cinnamon, flour, sugar and extra virgin olive oil to create a crumbly, rich cookie that graces kitchens and bakeries across Spain. Serve after a large holiday meal for a small, sweet finale, or nibble with hot coffee in the morning.
Polvorón Almendras
This Spanish Christmas cookie pairs well with morning coffee or afternoon tea. These varieties are a lighter version of more traditional polvorón almendras due to their creation with olive oil in lieu of lard. The airier, sweet taste is grounded with a mix of toasted, crunchy almonds, leaving a hint of nuttiness on the palate.
