Vichy Catalan is Spain's most popular mineral water. This sparkling water wells up from the depths of the earth at a Catalan hot spring that has been renowned for its healing properties from antiquity. It has an incredibly high mineral content and a pleasant saline taste.
Vichy Catalan tastes great and has a truly delicious and refreshing flavor. It is also very effective at calming upset stomachs (not a scientific claim, but our personal experience). Vichy contains 27 of the 34 minerals that your body needs for good health, including calcium, magnesium, potassium and even lithium!
In 1880, a doctor by the name of Modest Furest Roca, purchased the springs and in eight short years, Vichy Catalan had earned the gold medal at the Universal Expo. The first Spanish water to be exported, Vichy Catalan is renowned far and wide and is a sought after ingredient for modern culinary recipes and cocktails.
The plentiful rains of the region filter through hundreds of feet of rock over thousands of years. Over time they become infused with minerals and carbon dioxide. Once they reach volcanic temperatures the water is pushed all the way back to the surface. When the water bubbles up from the spring, its temperature is 140°F and naturally carbonated.
