These are by far the mildest, most tender sardines we have ever tried. These two hand-packed tins of sardinillas, one with olive oil, the other packed with a Padrón pepper, capture the flavor and healthful qualities of premium Galician sardines. Serve these tiny fish with crackers, or on a fresh salad along with a refreshing glass of Albariño wine.

Ramón Peña buys these little fish every morning at auction, just hours after harvest. That same morning, these tiny sardines are grilled and hand-packed one-by-one into each tin. Then they are covered with olive oil to preserve the tender texture and flavor.

One of the tins in this duo also includes a Padrón pepper. This mild green pepper from Galicia is famous across Spain. Ramón Peña included this famous pepper to add a little taste of the local Galician cuisine. It does not add any spiciness.

Sardines are one of the world’s healthiest foods, rich in beneficial amino acids, vitamins and minerals. The freshness of Ramón Peña sardines preserves the healthful qualities of the fish.
