Delicious plump whole mussels harvested from the pristine waters of Galicia are a delicacy treasured across Spain. Each mussel is perfectly cooked and packed by hand at Ramón Peña in a vinegar and paprika marinade. Serve with crisp crackers and a glass of white wine, or add to a fresh green salad.

The key is freshness. Ramón Peña is situated on the shores of a deep Ria, or fjord, where the Atlantic ocean reaches into Galicia. This means they receive the mejillones hours after they are harvested. The skilled local workers clean and cook the mussels, then pack them one by one into each tin.

In Galicia, mussels are farmed in the cool tidal waters just a few miles from Ramón Peña. Only plump, flawless mussels are selected.

Galicia is surrounded by cool, clean Atlantic waters that support a vibrant fishing tradition. The area is most famous for shellfish. In Spain canned seafood is acknowledged as a gourmet product, and small producers like Ramón Peña are meticulous about providing premium quality seafood to its customers.
