Both beautiful and functional, this handcrafted garlic jar serves as an attractive kitchen adornment and a convenient storage container for garlic bulbs. Have one of the most essential cooking ingredients at your fingertips for mincing and dicing. Garlic stays fresh thanks to ventilation holes punctured in the clay while the darkness of the jar discourages sprouting, so bulbs last longer.
This piece is crafted in the small Spanish town of El Puente del Arzobispo, which is known for creating artistic, traditional ceramics for over a thousand years. A quaint village with whispers of simpler days gone by, the narrow, medieval streets of El Puente are lined with the ceramic makers and craft persons it is famous for. We’ve enjoyed a strong relationship with the artisan who makes these ceramics for over 10 years and frequently travel back to the town to visit with her and discuss future creations.
Each piece is intricately hand painted and personally signed by the ceramic artists. Because of this personalized process, no two jars are entirely the same. It will add the authentic personality of Spain to your kitchen.
These pieces are made the customary way and glazed at a moderate temperature instead of their less traditional counterparts, which are glazed at high temperatures. Therefore, we do not recommend dishwasher use as it may crack the glaze. Wash by hand with warm, soapy water.
